This
is a great page with success stories about problem biters. There's
a shocking yet inspiring section about Tiffany, an albino jill
who learned to trust again.

What
a cute
story about an albino mommy! Also a fascinating report on
the progress of her tow kits.

Darla
was a complete spaz today. She weasel war-danced into every
wall the apartment contained, then attacked my feet as if these
obstructions were my fault. Nothing a good treat couldn't
cure.

What
a weird
dream about 'albino ferret things'. At least I think
she was dreaming....

There's
a beautiful albino
male up for adoption
at the Ferret
Rescue Society
of Ottawa and
Area. His
name is Nosie,
and he comes with
an adorable cinnamon
companion, Dook.
From what I understand,
they're both beautiful
boys with lovely
tempraments. Visit
the Ferret Rescue
website and click
on the 'Adoptions'
link to learn
more about them.

I
added Darla's
picture to her
section.
Check her out,
she's a cutie!
In the meantime,
check out this
terrific
ferret shelter
which also sells
merchandise.

I
found a page with the craziest ferret
jokes. Mention of Queen Elizabeth breeding albino ferrets.

This
is one brave albino. He's probably converted now to Darwinism.

I've
learned my lesson! This morning, I heard Darla squealing and
ran in to find her being used by Jasper, my deaf panda blaze
ferret, as a chew toy. The moment I picked her up to free her,
she nipped me! That's gratitude for you. To top it all off,
when I set her back down, she sought out Jasper and began darting
at him, enticing him to come after her again. Go figure. Can't
understand her, but love her to bits anyway.

This
is the cutest
thing! I know
what I want for
my birthday now.
Who would have
thought of ferret
candles as a merchandising
option?

Darla
found her way
into my bookshelf
today, and knocked
everything to
the floor except
my personal diaries.
God, even my ferret
finds my life
boring!

My
albino jill, Darla, was a handful this morning. Grabbing at
my mother's feet, trying to drag winter boots twice her size
into the hidey-hole she maintains in the hall closet, doing
the weasel war dance when prevented from taking a swim in the
water dish. My morning coffee comes in decaf but Darla doesn't!

An
article on the
ferrets.org
website made
the following
observation
about albinos:
"The
red-eyed white
breed of ferret,
commonly called
an "albino,"
was bred for
the trait of
eye colour.
Many of these
animals suffer
from hereditary
vision problems
due to this
breeding and
are basically
blind, being
able to distinguish
only vague shapes
and shadows.
Expect an "albino"
to require more
care and attention
than other ferrets."

article here.

In
an article titled, "The 'smelly thief' makes a comeback",
a London
journal indicates that Queen Elizabeth I had a portrait
painted of herself holding an albino ferret, associating the
animal with prestige and wealth.

What
makes a ferret albino? Bob

- Molly
was a victim of 'albino prejudice'- but thankfully she ended up
finding a home. Why is it that people are so creeped out by the
pink eyes? To me they're unique, and all part of the albino ferret's
'frosty charm'.

- Here's
a page where you can vote for your favorite color in ferrets.
The albino ranked at 4% when I last looked. Interestingly, the
albino ferret is extremely popular in Japan, a country just discovering
the ferret as a pet, so hopefully future stats won't be so dismal.

- This
Animal Control page tells the story of a woman who thought she
was being chased by a mutant white rat. Guess what it really was?
Can't people tell the difference between a rat tail and a ferret
tail?

- I didn't
know that albino ferrets were prone
to being cross-eyed!! Darla is just the opposite- she sees
everything. This morning she was discovered trotting off with
my mother's missing tube of Lush's Dream Cream.

- This
poor albino ferret ended up at a shelter with a "Will Bite"
sticker on her cage. Thank God someone looked beyond that. What's
the logic behind that anyway? It's like marking the ferret as
a leper.

- A loving
ferret owner's tribute
to her albino, Powder. I know how she felt. My own grief over

- Mike
Tyson owned an albino jill. She had to be rescued in 2000
and was immediately put up for adoption. The more I hear about
this guy, the less I like him.

- A fairy
tale about Kaylah, a little albino jill. She transforms slowly
from a haughty princess to a social butterfly. I should read this

- Warhol, a
male albino, is the proud recipient of a Guiness Book of World
Records award for being the fastest down a tube at the North of
England Ferret Racing Championships. Read
a note about it from his owner, who advocates ferrets as companions
for the disabled.

Ben,
an albino ferret who bit into an electrical cord and sustained
severe mouth burns. He's now recovered, but an article like this

- Albinism
is a proof of the ferret's status as a domestic animal! This
